Decent price is a personal value decision.  But its never been a better time to find good sounding gear at very reasonable prices.  The Cheap and Cheerful Circle is a good example of that.  Advancements in technology (the available varieties of digital sourcing and active/powered speakers just to name a couple) has brought the high-end much closer to the average joe.

Just a simple example:  given a smartphone for control, a BlueSound Node 2/i, and JBL 305 Mk2 speakers for $800 plus cables/stands would make for a wonderful, easy to setup/use, system.
