Back two are new vinyl. I've heard good things about the Carole King in concert and that MoFi did a good job. I hope so. :D

Another great little haul  :thumb:

Little Creatures is a regular visitor to the DaveyW TT
I know it's a much more commercial/poppy affair but those tunes are'nt half catchy with a great punchy production.  8)

I have no A. K. & U. S. on vinyl, I have to correct that. Heading out to DC in an hour to pick up a Gingko base for my tt, I'd look in DC, but don't know if anyone is open on Sunday.

Hi All,
Am currently surrounded by my latest DISCOGS order  :D

It all stemmed from myself and my good lady staying up late one night a couple of weeks ago watching a great BBC documentry featuring Carole King and James Taylor, centred around the Troubadour reunion tour.
I realised I had no James Taylor in my collection - this needed to be fixed quickly  :P

So did my usual, see who had what I wanted in stock at a fair price, then the fun begins of looking to see what else they've got that might be of interest.

And wow  :o
One of the vendors had loads of stuff, but more importantly some albums I'd got in my longstanding want list.

Namely these;

MAGNUM - KINGDOM OF MADNESS
JETHRO TULL - BROADSWORD AND THE BEAST
MONTROSE - MONTROSE
JUDAS PRIEST - POINT OF ENTRY

All original UK releases and in NM condition

and..

RUSH - A SHOW OF HANDS
(I caught them on this tour - spectacularly good)

Original Dutch release again in NM condition

Boy am I happy to have these discs in my collection at long last 8)

The James Taylor discs (also NM) are;

SWEET BABY JAMES - German Pressing
MUD SLIDE SLIM - US pressing

Just to top up the order I also added;

MICHAEL JACKSON- THRILLER (to replace a rather old copy)
CAMEL - THE SNOW GOOSE
BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST - EVERYONE IS EVERYBODY ELSE
SAMMY HAGAR - SAMMY HAGAR
LINDISFARNE - FOG ON THE TYNE
FOCUS - FOCUS 3

These vary from VG to NM

Free P&P on an order of this size and very, very fair prices

Locked away in the listening room with a little glass of Red, not sure when I'll emerge  :green:

This is a great hobby  :thumb:

Cheers
Dave

EDIT: It's no good, now moved out of my little listening den and fired up the MA's in the main living room  :icon_twisted:

The house is now being filled with the stunning sounds of Rush  :D

23 years ago I was watching the boys doing their thing at Wembley Arena  8)

23 years - Where does the time go   :icon_lol:

Nice catch Davey. Sounds like another good Discogs experience.

I haven't had time to play Litttle Creatures yet. I can't stay home long enough to clean and play what I'm buying.

You need to turn some of those :dunno:'s into  :thumb:'s

Am surprissed you've got some Montrose and then not gone on to get any of Hagar's solo stuff - bit of a mixed bag but worth checking out.

Magnum is probably the band I've seen most - at least 10 times - this album was their debut  - difficult to describe post 70's prog rock with a more commercial feel, nothing too heavy.

Thanks Laura,
Yes there's a few in this haul that I need to steam before playing, but indeed, another good DISCOGS experience.

If you have'nt heard "Little Creatures" before you're in for a real treat  :D
Might take a couple of spins for some of the tracks to seep in, but worth the wait.

Cheers
Dave

Yesterday's purchase from a store in downtown Santa Fe NM called "The Good Stuff." They had 3 bins of records called "The Really Good Stuff." a little more expensive, but every record was mint or NM and clean. Small store with a limited but quality selection. Also carried used books. Really nice owner who moved to Santa Fe from Chicago where he frequented Reckless Records.

Pretzel Logic is the original ABC Records pressing to go with my later MCA Records pressing.

Bon Iver - Bon Iver on Jagjaguwar JAG135, excellent pressing!  :thumb:

I heard this was a highly hyped up lp, man it does not disappoint  :P

Thanks! Gentle Giant is a fairly recent pleasure. I always loved Laura Nyro's voice and this was an album I have always wanted (for some reason I didn't buy it when it came out). Ziggy is my favorite Bowie era.

Thanks for the recommendation on Bon Iver. I have read several positive reviews and I'm glad to hear that is one to own.

I am recent also, I have not been disappointed in any of GG's lps i have picked up.  I think  Acquiring The Taste & Octopus are currently in my favored/ heavy rotation category.

Thanks for the recommendation on Bon Iver. I have read several positive reviews and I'm glad to hear that is one to own.

You are welcome on the Bon Iver.  Musically, I haven't been 'moved' like this by recent 'new' music.

cheers,  Jim
