Peculiar - your pic shows the label of the US pressing.

The original UK pressing was released in 1973 as Island ILPS 9268 on the pink rim label.
Mastering engineer was Arun Chakraverty and not George Peckham(Porky).

Regards Toni

Well, I'd say I'm BUSTED but it was an innocent mistake! Toni, you're right!!!! I thought Island meant Br Import, but now that I read little tiny print on the label and on the back cover (the red lettering is tiny and impossible to read at first glance),

Lo and behold....

It is an AMERICAN pressing!

But it does sound great. And I think I'm right about the little pig in the dead wax being a Porky!

There goes my holy grail, I'm on the hunt again!!!

I'm really sorry to break your happiness, Paul.

There is a nice review by Mikey regarding the early Eno records
and the sound quality of the various pressings:

The Eno Rock Albums--Part 1

The Eno Rock Albums--Part 2

If you can't find the pink rim pressing try the widely available UK Polydor reissue from 1977:

Sound quality is the same because both records were pressed at Phonogram.

Happy Hunting Toni

Brushfire Fairytales- Jack Johnson (EverLoving).  180g remaster by Bernie Grundman.  Opening track on side two of my copy is noisy.  Everything else pretty cool.  Especially the drum sound on Losing Hope. I mean whew!  Forking fantastic!  Vocals are round and warm almost to a fault (on my system).  Unusual recording and pleasant thruout.  Convincing instrumental placement and sound and nice music, too.

I have a lot of these, they are essential. I think you came upon a stash of personal records from a real music listener. Used to be I'd go to people's houses and snoop their record collection to get a good idea of what they were about (does that make me shallow?). This would be someone I could hang with. In fact, I could hang with you now!

I know, right?!?!

I'm looking at either an isolation platform to go on top of the rack, or a new rack, or both.

Yea Paul, you hit the nail right on the head. These albums were all from a personal collection. The odd part was that the Flea Market was huge with lots of vendors, but there was only one guy selling records. All told, the vendor had approximately 250 LPs. From a collector's, and horse trading perspective, I could have bought the entire collection. The majority of the records he had for sale, I already have in my collection... including most of the ones I bought. At $4.00 a piece, I decided to stick to 25 records. So, I spent $100, instead of $1000. He wouldn't budge on the price. What I left behind was all in the same genre... tasty, "white boys" rock 'n roll. Of course there was a little bit of Janis, Carly... and, well, the B52s. Very few women rockers. No black, R&B or soul music to be found for sale in that collection whatsoever.

All, and I mean all, of the LPs were in literally fantastic shape. You almost never see a collection for sale, where every record is a solid Near Mint! My purchases were mostly seconds: replace an old copy with a better one, different pressing and/or just to have a back up! For the rest of the day, I'll also enjoy hanging out with myself, and yes, I always look through people's music collection as well.  :P

He must also be 55 years old!

I like the splash page for DAve's Records in Chicago, talking about collections...he pays 1-3 dollars a piece in general. So at 4 bucks probably a good deal for us as "retail" second-hand buyers, but to get the whole collection, well...next time show him that page and offer him 300!

I did buy 29 MoFi's this past winter for 250 so maybe I've "overpaid" also!

Not the greatest shot here, but it does the job....

R.E.M. - Collapse Into Now
Low - C'mon
XTC - English Settlement (Original UK Double LP Pressing)
Sugar - Copper Blue (180 gram Ryko reissue / remaster)
