I went to at least two dozen garage sales and all I got was Switched On Bach (but at least it is in mint condition!)

Stopped at a 1/2 price bookstore on monday and went through their vinyl.  While most of the covers were a bit worn, the records themselves were VG-VG+.  Bought 13 albums for $26!   Steely Dan "Gaucho", BS&T, Asleep at the Wheel, Janis Ian "Aftermath" and Christopher Cross (a guilty pleasure of mine) just to name a few.

The Chris Cross recording is amazing....back up singers were Don Henley, Nicolette Larson and Michael McDonald.  Superb production just sings on those Cornwalls.
Hibuck....

I hit Vertigo yesterday in Grand Rapids. Picked up a nice copy of Aladdin Sane, gatefold, original release numbers to replace my "single" sleeve copy. Inside is a Bowie Fan Club flyer with pictures of all the records up to Station to Station. So much for a "first pressing" but it is better than my "old" copy, which has two sets of catalog numbers with the words "previously issued as" on it!

My 16 year old, of course, already has the gatefold copy! BIG Bowie fan!!!

Decal,

you are on a roll. :thumb:

Here's my latest "catch" from Streetside Records in Santa Cruz CA, Vinyl Solution in San Mateo CA and 4000 Holes in Spokane.

I now have the entire Decemberists catalogue on vinyl.

My first Crack the Sky album and the one on the top left is Civil Wars, recommended by the owner of Vinyl Solution when he saw I was a Decemberists' fan. He asked me if I liked Alison Krauss and Robert Plant and told me he thought this duo was better.

This in from pumpkinBill (thanks!!!)

Roy Wood is a promo, I have a regular copy but I can't have too many Roy Wood albums. Just not possible. And Gerry Rafferty: I'm looking forward to listening to it. I'm unfamiliar and I'd never buy it otherwise so I'm looking to expand my horizons! I'm still not sure how Bill knew I didn't have it. Bill: can you see me now?

Jules Shear, Watchdog. Produced by Rundgren, eh? Just noticed! All Through The Night is his song originally before Cyndi Lauper made it into a monster hit. It's got a breezy lightweight sound and the phrasing is crazy, like a demo of a song he doesn't fully know yet...

I ordered Elvis Costello MoFi Get Happy! Double 45 rpm vinyl, it comes out on Monday.  The first three EC record rereleases were fantastic and I can't take a chance on future vinyl availability...

Great Stuff!
The auld fella is still going strong - his Rock 'n' Roll Band shows are a real hoot

Thankfully he always circles back home for these to one of my fav haunts The Robin R&B Club that has "Woody's Bar" named after him.

Happy listening Paul  8)
