Speaking of 4000 Holes, there is some strange force that keeps pulling me into the store and once I'm there, I can't help myself.

It's a Beautiful Day is my 3d or 4th copy, but this one is a mint English pressing on the orange fading to yellow CBS label. The J.A. album is the new reissue and Rush and Paul Simon are in mint condition.

The new Radiohead album collector's edition thingy arrived today.  CD, artwork, and this big, strange round piece of vinyl.

This is the only record I own. . .and I don't have a turntable. :P

German Import, Roxy Music box set, first seven albums. May have to give my daughter my well-worn originals. They look and sound unplayed! 75 bucks for the set.

Paul

I know this post is around 7 months old, but.....gulp!  I did not even know this existed (as a box set).  And only $75?!  A find!

It's cool. I haven't cleaned them yet but they sure look minty. They come up on eBay pretty frequently.

I bought the 2 dollar A&M sampler called "Friends" back in the late 60's. It was my first record for a long time.

And I didn't have a turntable!! Yours is a more auspicious start. Congrats. Let the illness begin!!

Yes. It has the original paperwork with it.

Paid $24 for it. Maybe too much, but I see them going for about $50 on ebay.

No, it's a good price. It's a good sounding record from MFSL. Plus my original is just about worn through to the other side!

Seems like people either love MFSL or bash them. The only one universally reviled is the Sticky Fingers. I have a copy, I should check it out and report back.

Yeah, I have started looking.  Found 2 in the UK, but neither shipped to the US.  Anyway, now I know it's around...it will show up.  I can be patient about it.

Nice to see them in a nice set like that, especially when I don't have any RM on LP (just getting back into this).

Minty copy of the Figgs. If you like Graham Parker, you will like the Figgs. Guaranteed. In fact, they have backed Graham Parker in the past on tour! (and I believe on recording)

I would start with Sucking In Stereo if you don't have any, but at 4.72 cents for this Promo, I couldn't go wrong.

It's a shame you can't make it over here on a vinyl buying trip.
You can still get most Roxy Music LP's in the £1-2 bins at local fairs - mostly new original pressings too!

Are there any in particular you're after and I'll keep a look out?

Cheers

Thanks! I appreciate it.

My main problem is I am living in Rwanda via the US and vinyl is nonexistent here (stores or otherwise), besides folks who carry it over or ship it UPS occasionally like myself.  I need to start posting pictures and joining this thread legitimately!

Going on holiday in July / August and I'll be on the lookout then!  I have a friend based here who is in London about once a month or so....if my trip to the US is a bust, he might be able to help out.  Or maybe I should just join him on one of his trips home!!!  A vinyl hunting excursion followed by a trip to the pub, sounds like a fantastic way to spend a day.

Thanks!
Eric
