The Kiki Dee Band "I've Got the Music in Me" 1974 MCA Records

This is another LP that came from my most recent acquisition of about 60 records... average price $3.00. There's been so many iterations of the tune "I've Got the Music in Me." Written by Bias Boshell, a white Brit, Kiki originally released the song on this album. It's rather soulful, considering how disco it became. My other favorite version of the song was recorded by Thelma Houston (Whitney's mother) on Sheffield Records mastered direct to disc. I have a mint copy of that too!

Bill, does the owner of DD Records acquire as many used records as it seems like? How big is the store?

Actually it's nuts how many Lp's he comes up with. Almost all the Lp's I bought tonight were marked down to make room as he has another large collection coming in soon. Which is supposed to be alot of British blues Lp's. I'm hoping for some early John Mayall on Decca and maybe some Chicken Shack    :hyper:

Of the records listed 1 was $8 ~ 2 at $3 ~ the rest were a $1
Laura look for DD's on FaceBook

When I first saw this pic I thought it was Pumpkins back room given the number of recent posts here

I had quite a fruitful trip to a local Record Fair today and managed to bag a few albums, many of which I've been on the look out for, for some time;

A couple have some cover wear due to years of storage but all the vinyl looks mint and unplayed.

STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN, COULD'NT STAND THE WEATHER
PAUL SIMON, GRACELAND
THE MOODY BLUES, DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED
J GEILS BAND, BLOODSHOT
SUPERTRAMP, BREAKFAST IN AMERICA
THIN LIZZY, NIGHTLIFE
GEORGE THOROGOOD & THE DESTROYERS, MAVERICK
BOB SEGER, STRANGER IN TOWN
BILLY SQUIER, SAY NO
THIN LIZZY, JOHNNY THE FOX
DON McLEAN, AMERICAN PIE
SUPERTRAMP, FAMOUS LAST WORDS

SRV got the first run out on return home - My youngest (5 year old) Daughter's response was "Dad this music's Cool"   8)
Bob's on now - got plenty of good listening to come  :)

Thin Lizzy - Nightlife from 1974

I've been on the hunt for mint copies for a few years now of this and Johnny.
Snatched them both for under ten USD.
Just popped it on - Perfect  :D

Got this over the summer, never got around to posting.
While pristine, the Tapestry is a newer label, still sounds great, though.
The Grin album is worth it just for "White Lies" absolute pop confection!
Loggins & Messina sounds great but a highly edited version of Angry Eyes will make me seek out the original.
And Benson is another entry from the Breezin' playbook. Hey, if it works, it works!

No worry...I just found the Loggins & Messina album with Angry Eyes.

Plus I found a Classic Records Tapestry so my non-gatefold goes to my 18 year old daughter.

When you have an American copy you just can't resist a British import...

Met up with Shadowlight, Etcarroll and of course Mrs. P at DD's today

5. Roy Wood ~ On The Road Again

7. Sea Train ~ Selftitled

On The Road Again is not Roy's finest moment, but since The Move are my favorite group I have just about everything Roy's ever done! Do you have Boulders? Mustard?

Seatrain self-titled: guess their first two albums are eponymous! The one with 13 Questions was a college favorite...

I gotta stop meeting Pman, $100 in mostly $1 clasical offerings a few weeks back, and $133 tonight, 40 $1 specials and the rest in Jazz.  :duh: Mostly Verve and Blue Note vinyl at $3-$8 per.

And Shadowlight lent me a pr. of CBS blackplate tubes to try in my pre.  :thumb:

And Mrs Pman did 'oh really' schtick with me, just a good trip when all things considered.  :rotflmao:
