Great scott, Scott!  You've been a good boy haven't you! Nice score from the family. 3 of mine are back-ordered (ELP, Tarkus and Trilogy) as well as the new MOFI Cars, Candy-O.

Let me know how the Who LP sounds.

If that copy of Who's Next is the 200g Classic Records reissue it sounds awesome.

Jerome,

I'm starting to think that anything put out by Classic Records is nothing but top shelf, am I close to right on this? I have Roy Orbison, Crying on 200gm and it's incredible.

Jerome,

I think that's pretty close to the mark Wayner.  I have always been very fond of the high quality mastering that Classic Records brings to its releases.

My beef with Classic Records is the shoddy quality control of the vinyl pressings themselves.  I'm not exaggerating when I say that a full 30% or more of everything that I buy from Classic Records has had to go back because of pressing defects.  This is what is holding me back, and where it not for this problem I would have many more of their pressings than I do.  As it stands, I only buy those titles that I regard as must haves, which is not really that many.  There are literally several dozen titles that I would like to buy, but frankly I don't need the hassle of having to deal with a lot of returns.

Hey Jerome,

You know, I've had pretty good luck with Classic. I've got about 20 or so releases from them and haven't had any issues. Some of the masterings are better than others but overall, they tend to be quite a bit better than the original issues and most times better than the WLP's I've got.

hmmm....I guess I'm just lucky I suppose

I suppose.  I have bought over 100 and had to send more than 30 of them back.  No kidding.

Look what the family got me!

Am I lucky or what? This is the 180g stuff and except for two momentary scrunches on one side of one album, all four are flawless.

Yo, Wayner! Nice score. Is the Autobahn cover you linked accurate? It's not the old album cover, or was it different in Germany?

Paul, it's the new release version. It does have the original artwork book with the LP.
