OK folks, I am on a real slowcore run right now. And I can highly recommend these fabulous albums:

Low: Secret Name
Galaxie 500: On Fire
Codeine: complete works box set (a joy since their albums were long out of print and high $$$)

Brother of deceased band member posted on Amazon. Sounds like bubblegum. Perhaps a guilty pleasure...

Paul

Paul I wrote this on another site

Quote
One website classified this album as US Psych/Rock. I've never claimed to be anything more
than a poor Pumpkinman "but" if this isn't a bubblegum album then I know less than nothing.
Now I didn't hate it but I didn't love either. There are "bubblegum LPs that I really like. By groups
like 1910 Fruitgum Co. etc. etc. etc. While I can't wholeheartedly recommend this album I can't
dismiss it either. Unless you are a major bubblegum music fan I'd recommend you take a pass
on this album.

Didn't get to Princeton Record Exchange, but found some nifty shops in the Baltimore area.

Record and Tape Exchange, Towson, MD.
ALL of the LPs from RTE look consistently excellent!  Clean shop, nice staff.  Not a huge stock, but prices are good. LP condition seemed consistently much better than larger LP resellers I’ve visited (Amoeba, etc.)

LPs
25 cent specials
An Evening with Windham Hill LIVE
Munch/BSO Bolero Shaded Dog

99 cent specials:
Linda Rondstadt Lush Life with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra (great performance/recording!)
HiFi Fiedler RCA Shaded Dog Stereo
Genesis A Trick of the Tail

1.99 each
Steely Dan Gaucho
Best of the Kingston Trio (mono)

2.99 Discs
Emerson Lake and Palmer Welcome Back, My Friends….(just realized it is a 3-disc set!   :thumb:)

4.99
Deep Purple Made in Japan

7.00
Meet The Beatles (orig mono, just came in the door as I was checking out)

Misc CDs  $2.50- $7.00  Buy two, second is 1/2 off.  Fair number of $1 LPs

25 cents each at hospital resale shop in Rehobeth Beach, DE
Gilbert and Sullivan Patience  London OSA1217 boxed set mint
Johnny Horton’s Greatest Hits (Battle of New Orleans, Sink the Bismark, etc.) Columbia
Christmas with Chet Atkins RCA (White Dog)
The Good, Bad, and Ugly OST (United Artists)
Glenn Yarbrough “Baby the Rain Must Fall”  RCA
Two renaissance and spirituals LPS (one sealed) in Timbre Tone label (looks like BMW  logo)

Normal’s Records  425 E 31st St, Baltimore

SPOILER ALERT!  This little book/record shop has the coolest Springer Spaniel you’ll ever meet.  Greets you at the door, and sits quietly at your feet while you flip through CDs and LPs.

Jennifer Warnes Famous Blue Raincoat  LP  $4.00!
It’s A Beautiful Day/White Bird  LP $8.00
Five misc English or Celtic Folk LPs  $4-10 each

CDs
Joe Glazer  Folks Songs of the American Dream
Somewhere between Pete Seeger and The Kingston Trio
Excellent vocals and acoustic recording, warm sound, excellent balance.  Lovely political activist folk music with dry humor and no attitude.  Very analog sounding

5 bucks from Acoustic Sounds of all places. Haven't listened yet, but she has a great voice and the song B-A-B-Y Baby is great. 1-A matrix with cool writing in the dead wax, something about Stiff really supporting Rachel.

Paul

The promo pic is for pumpkinman. No, it's not a white label! :icon_lol:

Bought the other four Doors albums, now I have all six. But I did not buy the 100 dollar box that specially houses the records. And I'm not gonna!

I think it's from 1981, the new reissue on MFSL is, like all the others, spectacular. For me this is the last album in Elvis' golden period where he could do absolutely no wrong.

These MFSL recordings are must haves.

Outside looks OK.

Inside, not OK. Audible scratch!!!! Brand new, I just don't have lots of free time to contact Matador, but I will. Once they sent me three Belle and Sebastian records before I had a playable copy.

The Ride reissues are lavishly produced, to say the least. Highly recommended.
