Vinyl Lady,
You'd just better get out there and pick up some Zappa before you turn 64.

After listening to samples from Hot Rats and 3 other Zappa albums tonight I don't believe I will be adding any Zappa to my collection before I turn 64. Not my cup of tea musically speaking.

He's not for everyone - you either like his stuff or you don't.
I really looked forward to Halloween and the Zappa shows in New York as they were just an awful lot of fun.
He left us way too early.

Besides www.radio-active-records.com

I'll be spending a lot of time in Ft. L. for business over the next 2 years.

decal,

How does that version of Who's Next sound? I've only got a bargain bin copy with tons of noise. It's high on my to-replace list, but I haven't been sure whether to go with a new reissue or keep an eye out for a clean used copy...
I just listened to "Who's Next". Initial verdict... Not a stellar recording but way better than my original LP in every way. Definitely better than any RBCD I've ever heard but not as enjoyable as the SHM-SACD version. Well worth the money in my opinion, humble as it may be!!! :thumb:

Hot Rats: his magnum opus. Don't get turned off by the lyrics to Willy The Pimp. Listen to Peaches en Regalia, surely you've heard it. I'm not a jazz fan but this is jazzy that I like.

Paul,

I didn't pay any attention to the lyrics. It was the music that turned me off.

Hey Folks,

Work has been keeping me too busy to muster the energy to post , though i have been skimming posts and seeing what people have been buying and spinning  :).

I'm in Providence RI for work and Miney gave me a led to The Time Capsule where I picked up some great vinyl:

The Electric Flag – A Long Time Comin'
Procol Harum – Procol Harum
Procol Harum – Grand Hotel
Procol Harum – Shine On Brightly
Bread – Guitar Man
It's A Beautiful Day – It's A Beautiful Day
It's A Beautiful Day – Marrying Maiden
Ten Wheel Drive with Genya Ravan – Peculiar Friends
Jean-Michel Jarre – Equinoxe
Iron Butterfly – In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
Iron Butterfly – Metamorphosis

The Time Capsule  was ending  their yearly half-off on vinyl sale and I only paid $25 total most of the lps are all visibly vg to vg+  :P

cheers,  Jim

Was on the way to Lancaster to the mall to buy some dress shoes, as I passed the Goodwill, thoughts of another member who swears by Goodwill popped into my head, so I pulled in to see what vinyl gems may lurk there.

Not much.

But for .50 cents each I took a chance on 4 classical offerings, the most promising what appears to be a very clean 6 eye Columbia of;

Rimsky-Korsakov Scheherazade, Op. 35
The Philadelphia Orchestra (Orchestra), Eugene Ormandy (Conductor), Rimsky-Korsakov (Composer)
