Alien Planet (2023) - a new cult classic is born

Alien Planet was made with love for the original 1950's and 1960's sci-fi movies and TV shows like Star Trek. Vinyl masks - check; cheesy acting - check; desert location - check; uncomplicated plot - check.

I watched Alien Planet with a friend who agreed this is a really, really bad movie but...
instead of turning it off we had to keep watching, we had to see how it ended. Somehow this movie entranced us and we couldn't leave.

I think it was "cat" Giree, the adorable toothy creature that kept us watching. I want one for Christmas.

The plot is simple, two sworn enemies cooperate to defeat a common enemy.  Alien Planet has plenty of fake blood, something Star Trek never had. This film will be a hit with 8 year old boys and grownups who never grew up. Don't watch it alone, this a a party movie (drugs and alcohol optional but it helps). During the film someone in the party will invariably say "WTF just happened?" during one of the bizarre scenes.

Screen this movie in the game room during Thanksgiving and the kitchen will be empty and everyone will be watching.
So maybe that ultimately makes it a good bad movie.

Alien Planet is a perfect 1 hr 21 minutes long.
