......George is fantastic. It's one of the rare times...in fact it may be the only time I can't choose between the two versions which is best.
Both are extreme talents.

Wonderful hi-rez recording on hdtracks.  Ella's vocals are warm and buttery.  When Satchmo sings, it feels like he is standing right in my listening room!  These standards have an undeniable, easy and understated swing.

I agree that this is a wonderful recording and it is monaural.  The way they sing "Stars fell on Alabama" for example, just takes you back to another time.

It's interesting to see how prominent the vocals are relative to the rhythm section on this recording.  Quite different than most current vocal recordings.  Especially interesting since the rhythm section has such an all-star cast.  Armstrong's trumpet is a bit harsh on my system.

You "rock" PRELUDE

It looks like I may have to invest in a BDP-1 to keep up with your awesome audio selections.

What normally happens... See what PRELUDE is listening to, wow, I have not played that CD in a little while - dig it out and feed it to the Esoteric. If I do purchase a BDP-1, you should at the very least get a hat or something from Bryston. How about it James?

 :P   :thumb:

Be well...
