 Internet radio.....  yes Sir, good use for Brystons, worth every penny  :thumb:

So you have some sort of bizarre code of listening that prohibits listening to high-quality streams if they come from broadcasters?

International radio on the internet  :o Blasphemous  :nono: :nono: :nono:

Next thing we are going to hear from you Nap is about your new disco ball that is also controlled from your tone control.

 :P  :D

Here is a picture of my Realistic DX 160 shortwave receiver. I could not afford the $200.00 for this radio when I was a kid and I eventually located one a couple of years ago with the outboard speaker. I am somewhat of a purest for international news stations and prefer to listen to them on shortwave. I will post some photos of my tube gear later.

Be well…

There is still something appealing about snatching a signal out of the atmosphere.
I have Kenwood R-5000 I bought almost 20 yrs. ago & it gets used on a regular basis.

To let Nap off the hook, he was being sarcastic about my listening to the BBC World Service through my audio setup.

While I would love to "snatch" the signal out of the atmosphere, BBC is broadcast locally on an FM station with a low power transmitter.  Between that low power and the insane high rise construction in Singapore over the last 10 years, the SQ is much better taking the Internet feed than trying to lock onto an FM signal.

I still have my original Sony Shortwave receiver, but not much in English is broadcast in this region any more.  Internet is definitely the way to go.

IMHO for internet radio anything more than $19 computer speakers is a waste.

Once again we use different equipment.  If you think $19 speakers are suitable for your needs, have at it.
