Hi Klao,

`track 34 on https://www.hdtracks.com/index.php?file=catalogdetail&valbum_code=HD5099970558258 always stopped me from buying this one. the 78's are clearly there. How's the overall sound? I it a real restored master, or just a digitally recorded 78 rpm.

Hi Marius,

The set is just listenable and sounds like the usual mono recordings in the '30s. I bought them out of curiosity on how the father of this Bach cello works would perform the pieces. I'm quite sure the redbook CD version could not sound much worse.

I'm mistaken; they have not released SACD's of this set in the UK yet: http://www.prestoclassical.co.uk/search.php?searchString=emi+sacd .

Not sure if this particular set is from 78 rpm records. Read this.
