ACI Jaguar 2000 crossover question
« on: 26 Oct 2022, 07:34 pm »
Naïve question perhaps but these are getting over 20 yrs old now. I wonder if there can be any sort of decay in the crossovers that might occur; in other words is it worth taking them in for recapping/whatever?

I just got a pair of hearing aids from the VA so my 'crossovers' have been recapped so to speak. Really didn't realize how much high freqs I'd lost in my hearing, damn rock music.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Inductors lasts a century, resistors décadés and capacitors some 10 years.

However dont fix what is not broken, wait til they fail IMO.

If the capacitors are film caps they last forever.  If they are electolytic caps then they can dry out and need replacing after a decade or 2.

Yep, they're all high quality film caps so they should be good for a long time :D
