Analog Tweaker
« on: 12 May 2019, 05:02 pm »
Hi Everyone,

I live i Flagstaff, Arizona. I have a bit of an electronics repair background, so I like to buy legacy pure analog devices and upgrade them with sweet sounding modern components. Think of rebuilding a 1969 Triumph TR6 or a 1990's Jaguar XK. The results are the same, but the pieces are different (Mundorf  silver/gold capacitors or some RCA or Mullard tubes from the 1950's rather than Bondo and candy-apple paint). Either way, getting a well designed vintage amp or pre-amp to purr is a real joy. I'm hoping to meet a few audiophiles here who know what I mean.  :)

Anyway, it's a pleasure to find this site. I'm looking forward to meeting you all,

Mike K.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Welcome Mike :thumb:
If both are not PCBs I favor the TR6 for vintage.

Greetings & Welcome to AC Mike   :thumb:  If you choose the TR-6 be sure to check the half shafts. A noted weak spot in their history. And of course the Lucas electrics, goes without saying.  8)
