with folkloric Finnish/Norwegian melodies & jazz underpinnings. One really feels the desolation & spaciousness of Scandinavia. Musicians include the mesmerizing voice of Sinkka Langeland who also plays kantele (a 39-stringed Finnish table harp); Arve Henriksen on muted trumpet; Trygve Seim t & s sax; Anders Jormin, double-bass & Markku Ounaskari percussion.
Recorded impeccably on ECM which, for new discoverers, stands for Editions of Contemporary Music.
