Is there a maximum solid state drive capacity for the BDP-3? My music (DSD64 files) is currently stored on a Synology NAS with
a 6TB hard drive. My music files comprise a little over 3TB of capacity.
There are 4TB and 8TB Samsung solid state drives available. I have used 1TB and 2TB internal SSDs with the BDP-3.
I am considering replacing the NAS with an 8TB internal SSD in the BDP-3.

Personally I think you should continue with your NAS, it adds a bit of complexity to your setup but the BDP is no longer dealing with the file system storing the audio files and network traffic has less overhead and in addition a synology has some great software / ecosystem for doing things like creating backups. There no software issue that will prevent a BDP from reading an SSD larger then 2TB, but you will need to format the drive before installing it because Manic Moose doesn't support creating GPT partition tables.
