Guidelines for ceiling diffusion or absorption?
« on: 7 Mar 2011, 05:22 pm »
Are there guidelines for ceiling treatments - diffusion vs absorption?  I have GIK treatments on the walls, my speakers are Quad electrostatics in a 14' x 16' x 8' room, and I listen fairly near-field.  Thanks for your suggestions.

Every room is a little different. Something like the Quads have a somewhat limited vertical dispersion so diffusion at the reflection points would likely not benefit you much.

That said, there are some issues with 8' ceilings that something like a pair of 244's over your head (not at reflections) would help.
