Sherwood S-3000V questions...
« on: 18 Aug 2010, 09:47 pm »
Just won this off ebay and have a question or two.  If it sounds fine when i turn it on and everything seems "spiffy", shall I check the tubes anyway and replace ones that read low?  I know the 6BS8 tube to be carefull about since that apparently is the alignment one but i want to make sure.  I have lots of spare tubes for the sherwood, reason i ask :D

Hi, that's a great tuner; if you're happy with the sound don't mess with the tubes unless any appear over heated.

FYI, there's a guy on AK looking for Sherwood-branded tubes:

If it hasn't been serviced recently you'd want to do so.
I would check the tubes and have an alignment done to bring it up to snuff.
