Hello from NY
« on: 25 Nov 2019, 02:29 pm »
I listen to all types of music daily. Currently looking for a good A/V amp for the 5 in-ceiling speakers that came with my house, which I think will eventually be replaced to something better. They're PolkAudio RC60i and using my Marantz SR7005 (about 8 or 9 years old) - which is a mediocre at best-sounding amp - the Vincent (see below), blows it away - makes me think Marantz isn't a good choice for an upgrade for an AV amp/receiver.

Current Stereo system:
Vincent SV-237MK - upgraded tubes - currently Red-Tipped 12ax7 Telefunken - usually rolled with Valvo (Bugle Boy label) 45-degree foil D getter from 1956.  Focal Aria 936 speakers - sound amazing with the Vincent combo, looking to upgrade to Sopra 2's eventually. Bluesound node 2i, Sonos Connect. Bluesound is the clear winner but I have Sonos devices in other rooms so I keep it for whole-house play.

I've always like those Focals, they also put more a premium on industrial design than many and I like you can tell they're French, brings more diversity to the hobby.
