Introduction
« on: 31 Jul 2020, 04:34 am »
Let me please introduce myself. I'm a man of poorness and taste (in audiophile Hi-Fi equipment).
I am retired but have loved music and great reproduction of musical recordings for almost 60 years. Never having a large amount of disposable income I have tried to remain in this hobby by buying affordable equipment that sounds good but living with the fact there are better systems out there. More often than not, I purchase used gear. My current setup consists of:
UpTone Audio EherREGEN ethernet switch
Aurender N100H music server/player
Audio-gd DI-20HE digital to digital converter
Audio-gd Master 7 Singularity DAC
Audio-gd Master 9 preamp/headphone amp
Sota Sapphire turntable; Premiere FT3 tonearm; Monster Alpha Genesis 1000 MC cartridge
Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista Vinyl Phono Stage
Vandersteen 2Ce speakers (not Signature)
Audeze LCD-X headphones

Welcome!

There's never been a better time to be a frugal audiophile.  Streaming of CD quality sources for $20/month or less is wonderful.  High quality DACs have gotten, dare I say cheap?  Very little need to spend over say $600 for a DAC.  Affordable in-room active or passive speakers are available that sound really good starting around $1500/pair.
