Another '60s lady singing to me in French:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfiuaOWjEkIIn the '60s through the '90s, Sylvie Vartan was a superstar in Europe but never had a hit here despite singing some songs in English. She was born Sylvie Vartanian in Bulgaria. Her father, a French citizen born of Bulgarian parents, worked at the French Embassy but left Bulgaria when the Communists confiscated the family's ancestral home after WWII. They shortened their surname to Vartan. She had her first hit single in 1961 at age 16 when she sang the female lead on a popular group's single. She was uncredited on the record but it launched her career. In all she sold 50 million records, made nine movies, and appeared on 2,000 magazine covers. France awarded her two of its highest civilian honors, the Ordre National du Mérite and the Légion d'honneur.
The video above is a scene from one of her movies.
