Sonab V-1's
« on: 22 Nov 2010, 10:39 am »
G'day all, my first post here in this section.  I have a pair of old Sonab V-1's that I've used in my bedroom system, and although it took a while to get used to the upward facing speaker, I think they sound quite decent.

Apparently they're not regarded overly highly in the Sonab range but I think they sound quite pleasing.  Any comments?  Regards, Felix.

BTW, the Philips 9710 Alnico goes away for not under 200€ a pair.

Stig Carlsson is an interesting study.  With the passage of time I had half forgotten his speaker designs.

I'm pleased to see his legacy is being preserved in Sweden as it appears to be.

Thanks for the link el`Ol.

G'day all, I picked up mine in a purchase with other audio gear from a charity shop.  I'm presently driving mine from a small 20 watt/ channel DIY chip amp and they sound surprisingly good with good overall acoustic efficiency.  I really like them.  Regards, Felix.
