Bryston SP1.7 glitch
« on: 19 Mar 2004, 05:35 pm »
I recently noticed that my Bryston SP1.7 has been glitching lately when I switched to TV/Video with the digital coax and analog present.  The digital light stays amber even thought there is digital signal present.  I would have to either shutdown the 1.7 from the back or select digital on the remote manually.  I have V.43 firmware.

I have my DCT-2000 digital cable box hooked up to my SP-1.7 by the digital output only. Sometimes (very rarely) my SP-1.7 won't lock onto the signal from the DCT-2000. If I switch to another input and back to the TV/SAT input, the SP-1.7 always locks on. I'm thinking that this is a problem with my DCT-2000 and not the SP-1.7. I haven't had this "problem" since the cable company upgraded the firmware in my DCT-2000 a couple weeks ago. If possible you might want to check your TV or Sat box with another processor to narrow down where the problem is ?

It seems to happen to me also on my Sony 999ES DVD player with both analog and digital connections present.  When I played Hi-Rez music 96/24,  I would get "no clock" on the display instead of 2ch.  I would then switch to 5.1ch then back to 2ch.
