Title: HYPOSTATIC Indigenum Magnetostatic speaker
Post by: BruceSB on 4 Feb 2019, 02:36 am
Noticed a new and innovative speaker.
It is the HYPOSTATIC Indigenum.
Specifically it is a 'curved magnetostatic dipole' (CMD) hybrid (crosses over at 500hz).
The inventor has developed it and started up his company to manufacture them.
Has ten years of development behind it.
Has a nice look to it according to these eyes,
And, looks potentially very interesting sound wise.
What do you guys think?

Maker is in Finland.

Magnetic planars typically use a conductor circuit of wires or a metal foil bonded to the diaphragm which function as a voice coil does in a conventional driver.  The literature states that the diaphragm weighs just 1.63 grams, so I'm wondering if that includes the weight of the voice circuit and, if so, what conductor would add so little weight and still handle the power without overheating and shorting open or dis-bonding from the diaphragm.

There is a 'budget' model now out at one quarter the price.
If you purchase quickly you get some company shares thrown in!
But,
There are no reviews out for either model.
Most people (including me) would be reluctant to purchase without a listen and some reviews!!
Still, something to follow from a distance even if you don't buy.

With that small size and low sensitivity as usual in other planars if the price was 278 euros it could no help the audiophile market yet.

If you buy 100 of the presale speakers, you COULD own 100% of the company...
(Every buyer gets a 1% share of the company with each pair of preorder speakers)
Euro 620,000 you would own the company outright. Buy 51 pairs.. for 310,000 Euros you would control the company..

”Hypostatic is the underlying substance and the fundamental reality that supports all else.”

Sir, step away from the hash pipe and turn around slowly...

Either that or something has been lost in translation.
