Hi all Audio Circle members.
Recently I was setting up my Rega P3 and 
I realized (again) that the Rega P3 is not such a very good investment for the money,
lots of cheap  plastic, a motor that is held down with two sided tape and more...
I was considering selling it and buying a U-turn Orbit turntable,
even if its a downgrade in sound quality,
but since the motor is synchronous AC it wont work properly with 50Hz
and since I am stuck in this 50Hz country (Vietnam),
I have to keep the P3.
Sometime the audio life sucks.

The motor will work, just a slower speed. Why not contact U-Turn and inquire if they have a 50hz pulley for the motor.

Hi Wayner and all Audio Circle members.
I've already contacted U-Turn
and they told me that they don't have and won't have a 50 Hz motor
and the same with pulley.
They are just starting their business
and I understand that they are not ready to offer all kind of options.
As part of my job for 30 years as an industrial combustion technician
and electrical control panel designer involving motor controls,
I know already that 50 Hz will run slower than 60 Hz.
I will keep my P3 and run it on 220V/50Hz.
Thanks anyway for the advice, it's appreciated,
because it's means that you care.
