Cheap and cheerful outdoor speakers? $250 or less?

Not too sure what my options are...

You might start by looking here.

https://www.outdoorspeakerdepot.com/

I bought outdoor speakers from here for around $70-$80US and they sound great and have held up well over the last 7-8 years.

Good luck.

I bought a pair of Yamaha NS-AW150WH outdoor speakers from Amazon three years ago.
Sound very good. Sound better if you have a subwoofer. Cost of the Yamsha's is about $80.00
  on Amazon.

I don't recall their cost, but I've had a pair of Paradigm outdoor speakers for about 15 years. They're a little lacking in the <50Hz range, but they sound decent enough for my patio.

The problem I have with my patio system is that it's to darn HOT!! outside in the summer. Nice around 6 pm.
Then it's time for music and Martinis outside.

I take my Sonos One out to the patio and stream Tidal to it from my phone. Sounds great! Then take it back into the house when I'm finished. Light and easy to move around as well.

Hello,

I use these from Parts Express in a covered patio.  I use as 8ohm not using 70v system. They sound good, and for the price ($95) they sound very good. I need to buy another pair for a different outdoor project.

"Dayton Audio IO655WT 6-1/2" 2-Way 70V Indoor/Outdoor Speaker Pair White"

Insignia outdoor speakers from Best Buy were good sounding speakers for their low price. Especially the NS-E2111 if you can find a pair.

Could look here too - https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/category/spkoutdoor/speakers/outdoor-speakers/1.html

I bought the DEFINITIVE TECHNOLOGY AW5500 5.25" 2-Way Outdoor Speaker Black  from them for $99 each as I had to replace my outdoor speakers and really like them so far. A little bigger than previous ones but that's OK.
