Title: vandersteen 2c's with sound anchor bases?
Post by: tripwr1964 on 2 Nov 2016, 05:41 pm
i am assuming big fat gliders between spikes and floor (carpeted concrete), but what goes between the speaker base and the sound anchor base?  are they hard mounted?

A Cone/Spike Decoupling Glider under each of the stand spikes will do very well (Giant version usually isn't necessary with 60lb speakers). Three or four Big Fat Dots (or Square Fat Dots) between each speaker and stand, in place of the little bumpers, virtually always works well. Customers commonly mention improved bass definition and you'll likely get subtle improvements throughout the audio spectrum.

Yeah i ordered some gliders and fat dots too.  See how it works.
i tell you the sound anchors were a big improvement vs no bases.
cant believe a set of 30yo speakers can sound this fantastic.
