I've been upgrading my system and the new gear is showing up some weak spots in my system
I'm trying two new items to see if that helps, a new power conditioner and a new active crossover. I've been using a Marchand XM9 solid state crossover for a few years, but I've been being encouraged from several sources to upgrade to the tube version. I was looking for a used XM26, but they were rare and expensive and then I lucked into an XM126 for the right price! I'm demoing it in my system right now, about to sit down for my first listen, but I noticed the power supply has a wicked loud fan! You can turn off the fan, and I read in an old post that the fan isn't absolutely necessary, that it doesn't get THAT hot. Maybe for summer use? Does anyone have experience with this unit? Any pointers? THANKS!
