In 1978 I moved out of my parents home. My father was in the car stereo business and knew the folks running Cerwin-Vega. My first pair of real speakers were Cerwin-Vega 313, floor standing 12” 3-ways in real wood veneer. I had them powered by a lower end Pioneer receiver and a Pioneer turntable. They rocked!

My first "real" speaker was a University 6201 12" coax mounted in a Karlson Enclosure which I built myself from a kit. It was mono because stereo hadn't been invented yet. Don't know if I'm the oldest member of AudioCircle but I'm sure not the youngest.

Magnepan SMG around 1982.  :thumb:

Since then I’ve had ADS, Salk, and Soundfield Audio, but currently running Magnepan LRS.  I’ve come full circle I guess!

My first really good speakers were a pair of MG-1s I bought new in '78. Currently running .7s. I have to agree about circularity.

The C-Vs I posted about were part of a system containing a Pioneer SX-727 and a Pioneer PL12-D.

Almost exactly the same for me, except that I was 17 (same year - 1970) and I only had the Kenwood receiver on dealer loan while I assembled my Dynaco SCA-80 kit
