We got a really great end of year cash deal on a brand new, nearly loaded, 2019 BMW X2 M35i a few weeks ago and had a two week wait for it to be delivered from South Carolina. Here it is in the bay before we drove it home. It's small, but it's a total beast! From BMW: "2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo delivers a stunning 302hp and 332 lb-ft of torque – making it the most powerful production 4-cylinder built by BMW". All-wheel-drive and 0-60 in 4.8 seconds 8) We live in downtown Houston, so a lot of city driving, and we are averaging 30MPG. It's the best car either of us have ever owned.

Dave,

That is a pretty Camaro. Not sure I could ever bring myself to buy one but it seems like I’ve owned most everything else so why not?!

It's been a week short of a year of ownership now, and I still think it's an amazing car. I've taken it to a couple autocross races and plan on hitting a some tracks, but I managed to dislocate my shoulder a few weeks ago so waiting for that to heal up. It's the RHS, I can still shift but not quickly and it hurts like a mofo, one of the most painful injuries I've received. We have a local driving school that' supposed to be really good so I'll call in a couple weeks and see if I can schedule some time with a few friends.

It's also a great car for cruising on the highway, .5:1 6th gear and it just gets better fuel economy the faster you go... like 30 mpg at 90 mph!

If you can live with the tradeoffs of limited space, visibility, etc. I don't think you'll regret getting one. If anything, it's too good... it doesn't have that fast seat of the pants feel, and 100 mph feels just like 50 mph except the scenery goes by faster. But at autocross it's like driving a big go-cart, it feels small and very maneuverable, it kills slaloms and does things almost telepathically.

Not much of a stereo but the exhaust sure sounds good!

A couple of months ago, I traded in my '15 Mustang on something a bit more exotic  :thumb:

I wouldn't call it a daily driver but let's just say we've put about 5k miles on it since early June. End of the month, we're headed down to Kentucky with a few other couples in convertibles to do a day at the races and few days on the Bourbon Trail.

Absolutely love this thing. Like motorcity said, the (Bose) stereo sucks but the exhaust notes MORE than make up for it.

GT86. Started running track events last year and got hooked. I ran 11 track days this year, but the season is now done and snow tires are mounted. Yep, my track car is also my winter driver. Here is a photo the morning before a BMW Car Club event in Brainerd International Raceway this summer.

KLH007,

That's interesting.  We are both cable designers, and track enthusiasts.  Do you know what type of car end events Ted drive in?

Ah yes, I've had a few of those go screaming past me, so that is a great color.

Once the pineapple express takes a break for a few days and I can get it washed I'll take a few photos and post them up.
