Good stuff Jon L!!  As someone that has been to many shows, I love the "Didn't get a chance to seriously listen to this room".  When I post stuff like that it means I really did not like the sound of the room

Actually, I really mean I did not get enough of a listen to my own material to form an informed opinion.  There were 6 floors of exhibit rooms!  There were rooms I never even made it to

+1 thanks for sharing. THE Show in Newport was great, relaxing and between the great systems and live music (and cigars/cars) it was a blast!!!

Well, at least he's being tactful. 

I try to only have positive comments about systems at a show- the environment and business arrangements often dictate sonic quality, it's common to have a good bit of gear sound bad at a show.

Thanks for the superb coverage, Jon.  Your report allowed me to see the show, as I was pretty much stuck at my table (in the Catalina Ballroom) for most of it. I did get to hear a handful of rooms at the very end of each day, however....EAR, Lotus Group USA, Fidelis, and MA Recordings sounded great to my ears. I wish I could have listened to more.
