Mini Watt Integrated amplifier tour (sign up here)
« on: 25 Jun 2009, 06:48 pm »
Mini Watt Integrated amplifier tour is available, sign up for audition. (if there is enough interest)

All members with good standing record and minimum of 100 posts can sign up.
You are responsibility for shipping the unit to the next guy on the list.

With the advance power supply technology and premium components, MiniWatt excels detail and transparent midrange while the top registers are silky sweet. The entire perspective is distant and laid back but without losing the image of space. Through the silky highs and transparent midrange, MiniWatt sounds very pleasant and musical, it makes small ensembles, vocalists and acoustic jazz sound very good, and Jazz, rock and pop music with lots of bass.

Anyone with high sensitivity speakers own it to themselves to try this integrated amp.
Retail of this amp is $229+$40 express shipping - total of $269.

In the era where power cables cost hundreds and sometimes thousands this little amp is no brainer.

If you do not believe me, just sign up for the free tour and listen for yourself.

Here is the link to Ebaen Srajan review on 6Moons

PM with your information to sign up  and I will prepare the tour list.
I am thinking of two tour groups - east and west cost.

How about a Canadian tour? :thumb:  Just kidding!

I had a Decware Zen, which has about the same power output, but is much bigger and more costly - SET.  That amp was very fast and clean.  What I liked about it the most was its ability to create an enormous soundstage with very precise holographic imaging.

So the Miniwatt intrigues me, but I doubt it will have the same characteristics of the Decware.

Canadian tour ? - who knows. It might happened. It is up to Derek - Business rep. of MiniWatt.

As to Decware amps - In all honesty, I have heard only one of his amps (older design) but loved it. Highly recommended stuff. Love his philosophy as well.
I do not want to (simply because I can't do a direct A/B comparison) compare these two but Srajan did mention something about it in his review (I thing?).

I did not want to say it, but here it goes:
MiniWatt equals and in some aspects better my own 6k monoblock (Consonance Cyber 800 with Siemens NOS EL34 and Mullards CV2493 , modified by RHB Sound Dezign).

If you think of it as a spare/extra amp just in case, you would be very surprised.
It was exactly my motive when I ordered it originally. Soon after, I share my experiences with Srajan (who was working on the review) and it placed my Cybers in the closet.

What else can I say.

(I paid more for 2 quads of EL34s)

Mariusz :)

MiniWatt has enormous grip on the bass.
It is extremely fast and dynamic with somewhat bloomy midlle-range which I prefered. Soundstage wise - .......... no complaints whatsoever.
Vocals are spellbinding as well as string instruments with extra air around it.
Micro-dynamics are also second to non.
But please keep in mind that it might be due to my setup and bipolar speaker configuration.

As a side note -

the tour units will be offered at some discount for those who will be interested in purchasing them.

So far we have:

ebag4 - So. Indiana

ecramer -  Pennsylvania

Do not be shy, you can not loose anything except your perception of value v.s performance believes.

Are you going to be offering these for sale, or are they factory direct only?

Sounds like a cool little amp.

I'll offered those as an option with my speakers in the future.
You can buy those direct as well.
To lower the costs I will buy in bulk and am talking to MiniWatt rep. about the possibilities.
Considering the production costs and parts, pricing is somewhat tricky.
Keep on eye for this company as they have few tricks up their sleeve for the future products in their line.

Great, I hope you sell a billion of them.

I'm tempted to order one just to play around with, they are so cheap that I can't really think of a reason to not own one, ha!

Peace,

Do not want to sell a billion, just one for the right guy.
A guy who appreciate music, value and is not polluted with mainstream vendetta.
Currently working on the speakers which will relate to those attributes as well.
Being a pimple on elephant's a** gives me freedom to be choosy and have uncolored opinions.
I do what I love and love what I do.

One thing about this amp - you do not need any modifications or even pricey NOS tubes to make it sound great. Plug it in and enjoy the ride.

If you like, I can send you one to try.
Your call.

Hoping some younger folks buy them and realize gee this sounds better than iTunes :)
While it is clear you do not need to spend a ton of cash to get good sound many do not get it. Hoping this amps and many other value amps help folks enjoy the music as the artist intends.

So far:

ebag4      - So. Indiana

ecramer  -  Pennsylvania

droht     -  Pennsylvania

sanacore - California

yo2tup    - California

I will have 4 units for the tour if needed. It all depends on number of members participating in the tour. Audition for more or less 5 days would be ideal and give everyone a chance to listen.
But lets see how many members we will get in the next few day. I will close the list on Sunday at midnight and then we can get into details.

Cheers

Silver is fine.

For the price, no, shipping it back and forth will cost almost as much as the unit.   Not a lot of financial risk at the price.  If I don't like it, I'll post it for sale so another AC member can enjoy it.

Sent you a PM.
