Archived LPs & made mixed tapes on my c.1980 TEAC C-2 for ~20 years until it started spending 6 months a year at the authorized service center. Sound quality was almost as good as original. Nowadays I've a Pro Tools workstation connected to my preamp via AD/DA.
Saw Yes at Madison Square Garden. The warm up act was a Bugs Bunny cartoon & some prerecorded music. Clear view of the mixing board through binoculars. The warm-up music played off a C-2.
