4BSST2 Problem

4BSST2 Problem

Folks, my 4B that powers subs went nuts. After an hour or two, it started pumping massive low frequency pulses causing the entire house to shake like it was Armageddon!

Anyone have similar issues with theirs?

Not enough info... Did it still do it after disconnecting inputs?
If all you did was shut it off. Then you do not know it was the amp, or something else causing it.

Nothing upstream (preamp, crossover, EQ) was turned off - only the amp. It hasn’t done it again, by the way, after being used many times since. Very strange, indeed!

Then you really do not know what was actually happening. You do not know if it was some upstream device, or the amp.
Personally if it has not happened again, I would call it a 'visit by naughty teenage  extraterrestrials' and ignore it.

LOL! Actually, the level LED’s on the upstream gear weren’t showing anything abnormal. Only the amp was vacillating between clipping on both channels as it pulsed.

Amazingly, it didn’t fry my woofers. Kudos to JBL!
