For anybody who has ever used Vista that's a pretty scary thought.

You have to ask yourself what the consequences are when you get the BSOD and the Artificial Idiot loses its mind.
I am not looking forward to a more complex driving experience involving a Microsoft operating system.
That's my two cents.

BSOD has not been a problem since Win 9x.

The only time I have experienced Vista problems are when I've knowingly tried to shove XP drivers down its throat. Many Vista issues have been the fault of third parties, not MS itself.

A closed system like this is an entirely different situation from a general purpose PC.

I've personally had more instability issues with Macs in the past eight years than with Windows PCs.  To clarify, I've had very few problems with either.

But, wait, MS is teh evils!!!1, and all the cool kids hate on it, so it can't be good, right?

Does that mean we will get the "blue screen of death" while conducting a maneuver such as passing?

Do you mean I have to reboot my car every 30 days, and it would catch a virus at the wink of an eye  :(

Funny how I haven't run any antivirus on Windows in about four years and have been completely fine.  I really don't understand all this doom and gloom, maybe its because I do clean installs and don't install crap, but Windows has worked like a charm for me from 2K and on, yes, even without "constant" rebooting.  Conversely, Mac OS X is solid, but, in my limited experience, has not been without its share of problems.

Somewhat OT, but its really amusing to see all the furor over Vista vs. XP- much of the same happened with the transition from Win2K to XP.  Amuses me to no end :P

My next car is going to have less computerization than my current one, which isn't too much to begin with :)

Seriously :)

I've been looking at late '60s-early '70s diesel 4x4's...I want something that's easy to work on myself, manual transmission, excellent 4wd capability, easy to convert to run on waste veggie oil, and most of all cheap to find on a college grad's budget :) Been looking at Toyota BJ40's (diesel version of the original FJ's), MB G-wagens...I love the Benz Unimogs but I'd need to find one with the fast axles installed, I don't need to go fast but a 45mph top speed is a little slow for me :D
