I am betting he is in Snyder, TX- between Abilene and Lubbock.

Also, let me take this opportunity to point out the new Jr. Audiophiles circle.  Please try to check this periodically as Abilene area students will be starting projects within a month , and these guys are starting from ground zero.  I suspect they will have lots of questions for which our members may have answers.  Encouragement always helps.

Guess I've been playing hookie awhile but I should start to get more involved.  After hearing what I heard at RMAF, I got the "itch" again....

I can host or bring beer wherever. My equipment hasn't changed since I got Dodd's battery powered preamp though I'm contemplating converting the living room into a dedicated 2-channel den of audio nirvana.  Hmmm.... I wonder if LS9s would be big enough ?

I'm Jim.  Live a little south of Fort Worth in Houston (north of there, actually).  Used to live in Fort Worth.  Got lots of stories!  Logged in on "Where do we go from here?" but only KCI and Arthurs acknowledged me.  Figured it's cause of something I said :duh:.  I have a large music collection, too, and a hospitable listening room.

Hey Jim,
Good to see you still around, Merry Christmas! Honestly I don't think it's "because of something you said" that area is just slow, darn near dead most of the time. Wana talk thread killers?? I'm the King!

Sincerely,
John

Looks like not much has changed Jim!     The NTAJ is really slow, I think Lee mentioned having some folks by his new shop after the new year, we may need to make a couple day festival out of it and hit my place and some others as well....

Happiest of holidays to you and all of yours, if nothing else pans out by way of Jams, get on up here after the new year and drag John's butt with ya, we'll have a listening session and drink something aged to improve the sonics!

Happy holidays, I'm off to assemble toys.... :xmas:

Anyone know if Frank Mulfich is still a good source for tube electronics diagnostics and repair? Can't find him on the webz and the phone number I have is no longer in service.

If not, any recommendations for such services in our area would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Dieter

Thanks guys... all is good with Mulfich Audio.

I talked to Frank for about a half hour today. He is busier than a one armed barber, just having some domain issues. His website should be up and running soon. Phone number, e-mail address and site still the same.

Hello Alan Marshall from Fort Worth here.

Retired, just starting to build my system. Had a great visit with Danny at GR Research, he checked out some older B&W 685 speakers that I had, they didn't check out very well. I believe I am going with X-LS Encore floor standing, small apartment. Maybe a PrimaLuna EVO 100 Tube Integrated Amp and Bluesound Vault 2i to start, opinions?

I drive to Ft. Worth every 4-6 weeks going to my daughter's place.  There is a record store in Abilene that often supplies big band music to one of the local retirement homes.  I know the owner well.  If there is any vinyl music that your wife or you enjoys, I'd be happy to drop some by.

Thank you for your kind offer. Long story short, I don't do vinyl anymore. l have hundreds of CD tracks on the computer. I start it up in the morning on random play and my wife and I enjoy continuous, familiar music through the day. I think it helps her and I know it helps me.

Hi everyone , I am Lazar from Flower Mound .

My system is turned on by all day and night with nice background music, mostly jazz .

I am working from home and that is the must have option for me .

My system is very simple :

DAC Gustard A22(AKM) -> Schiit Freya Plus -> Parasound A21 -> Ascend Sierra 2EX + SVS SB 3000

I am using ROON and his DSP implementation to integrate subwoofer.

I'm of the opinion that the three-way-system speakers would work better for quiet listening, which is unfortunately very important when you live in buildings with poor sound insulation. This is a main reason why I considering to change my  two way system's Ascend's loudspeakers.

Where would I be able to hear the KEF R3 here in the DFW area but in good conditions ?
