Honestly, why not just sell all these old tables and buy a new or slightly used Amadeus or Simplex?  You seem to have a lot of issues with these older tables.

You're probably asking questions only William Firebaugh could answer. I would guess the tables you have date well before Mike Pranka was involved with WTL. I wouldn't blame him. If you're getting no response from info@welltemperedlab.net, I'm at a loss as to what to tell you.

Davey, sorry to hear about the misfortune on your stairs, yikes.

I'm not sure if can offer much informative help. Could you describe or photo the damage?

When you say "arm clamp I'm assuming its the tonearm cup, towers, and anti-skate booms? None of which are similar to the current Player arm replica which also lacks the on-the-fly azimuth adjustment.

Wasn't the Maringo simply a chunky metal cup with the well tempered components attached?

The tower and boom pieces could be easily replicated by a hobbyist machinist. The arm and paddle are another story.

IMO the current WT line is less desirable compared to a Classic Reference but thats me. Search the internet every few days for an old Classic for the parts you might need.

There seems to be a bit on confusions with the Well Tempered turntables.  If you are referring to the Well Tempered Reference made with the Fountainhead plinth, these tables (and all the tables with the round motors) were not designed by Bill Firebaugh but by designers at Transparent Audio.  Bill Firebaugh was only directly responsible for the square motor units along with the current turntables  with the golfball arm design tonearms and the thread driven platters.

Back to the Marigo clamp.  Are you referring to the clamp around the bearing cup?  I seriously doubt that would fit the Reference arm, besides which it would not be needed since the reference arm has a two wall damped cup.  But you can try asking  Marigo Labs  marigoaudio@frontier.com .

You can change the belt to a thread drive via a new pulley.  For that you can contact Well Tempered.  There's a chance they no longer make this part for the older motors.

Thanks for that info on Well Tempered's history. I remember Transparent getting involved at some point. Always heard talk of that not being one of the greatest relationships for Firebaugh.
