Thank you for the review of our Transcendence DAC, the Transcendence 7 preamp, and the FetValve 550Ex!
In the review you mention that the T7 has no "character of its own" and that it's close to "straight wire with gain." This is exactly what we are designing for in all AVA products. We are trying to reproduce the sound "exactly" as it was originally played and recorded. We want our equipment to get out of the way of the music so that people can enjoy the original sound without having colorations from the equipment.
In the T7 preamp and the FetValve power amp we have taken the best of what we have learned in designing tube circuits and matched that with the best of our Fet designs. We feel the result is a very transparent design for both pieces of equipment.
