Heart is a Melody- Pharoah Sanders (Theresa Records). This is one live gig I would love to have attended! Ole, the opening track, is taken at twice the pace of Coltrane's Atlantic release (and his composition) and it's balls to the wall gone! Sorry, ladies. It's no holding back intense. At one point, Sanders removes his mouth from the mouthpiece of his tenor and screams the notes! I'm down with this but, I dare say, it's not pretty in any conventional sense. Me? "Front row table, mi lady, if you please".
