Nice little moving magnet set up (the 100 stylus is my sacrificial stylus for setting up a TransFi Terminator tonearm just in case).

Hi brooklyn,
later on, well, maybe at the end f this year, that's much later,
I will digitize all my LPs and some of my CDs
and after that,
I will need a DAC to send the converted digital to analog signal to my
Decware SE84C+ or My Sony mini receiver
and my choice will be between the Schiit Modi2 Uber or (If budget permit)
the Bifrost (Not the multibit, way too many $$$)
The end result is background music and who knows,
maybe even critical listening music ? ? ?
Did you do some comparaison between your Modi2
and a CD Player or turntable ? ? ? ?

There are many DAC (C&C and expensive)
but I like the marketting philosophy of Schiit
and it's made in the US of A.

Hi Guy, my criteria was made in america if possible, small footprint (to fit on my desk with
the rest of my stuff) and decent reviews so the Schiit Modi 2 seem to fit the bill. I decided
to spend a little extra and went with the Uber model for more flexibility just in case. So far,
I’m very happy with this unit for the money I spent.

I no longer have a 2 channel audio system to speak of so no comparisons were made at this
time. I do still have a turntable which hasn’t gotten much use in the last year or so. I mostly
listen to music/movies through headphones when I’m on the computer. I also just purchased
a Dell 27” monitor so my computer system just got a nice upgrade.

(Awersome review here)

I bought the Gungnir 6 weeks ago. It definitely takes a while to wake up fully (about 4 weeks of internet radio during the nights and working hours and streams and tv the rest of the time), but this is a great DAC. I like the sound marginally better than what my (updated and upgraded) Marantz KI Pearl for cd material.
I think it will be a challenge to find a better DAC without spending at least double what Schiit asks for it.
