Diod/LED lamp to NC400
« on: 3 Mar 2013, 11:25 am »
How do i connect an diod/led (power on indicator) on front panel?

I will use a power on switch on the backpanel but want something that tells me the amplifier is turned on on the front.

There are some power on switches with led indicators built in to buy but i would prefer a smaller one.

There is a aux power out, it is 21v when on 220voltage and 42v on 110voltage
Connector J1 on the SMPS power supply. i think that would be the way to go to hook up a led
then again i never did get one hooked p.

I used a fibre optical (toslink) cable to get the light from the LEDs of the amps to the front panel. All you have to do is take the plastic cases of the toslink cable. there is a little metallic connector with a lens under the plastic plug which fits nicely into the front panel through a 2.5 mm hole

It would be nice if you could post some pics of what you have done.   :thumb:

here goes. Will post some more images of the finished amp..

removal of the plastic protection

one end over the LED on the amp

With this cable, I could use the outer insulation to fit the cable over the LED

the other end has the light. You can drill a 2.5mm hole through the front panel. The light is discreet but very visible
