Room for remote ?
« on: 11 Feb 2004, 03:57 pm »
Here in Holland we have a firm called Hawk audio who also sells kits for amps etc. I am very interested in their SP-1 ( http://www.audio.nl/a1/versterkers/sp1.html ), a 6 channel pre-amp with uses a DACT attenuator.
Of course there is no remote and there is only 40 mm room between the back side of the DACT and  a row of relays on the back of the PCB. Would that be enough for the remote stepping motor?
Thanks in advance!

Room for remote ?

Hello!

Tough answer because 40mm is just about the space needed. 45mm would be o.k., 50 would be lots. Right to the back of the motor is about 41mm from the back of the switch - but the back of the switch has a a shape to it. If you can find out what part of the switch that 40mm dim is to then I'll do a careful measurement here.

Many Thansk!

Your answer was almost earlier than my question!
This afternoon I phoned with the manifacturer and he gave me the 40 mm. I will probably visit him next week and measure myself. I understand from your answer that with the motor fixed the distance between backside switch and backside motor is 41 mm.
I think I will manage (bad english I suppose). That 40 mm will probably be on the safe side...
Thanks for your answer!
