Hints at Ncore, explains why historically class d type amps have been poorly received and what seperates Hypex from the rest.

btw if you didn't know, the pronunciation is putz-EYES.

You may have to adjust from YouTube Mobile in the link to Standard YouTube to view it

I came across this interview here with Terry Dorn, the president of Audio Research, the eminent tube amplifier company, considered among the top of their field, and around point 7:25 in the interview they begin discussing a class d amplifier they now have. Audio Research? Class d?

It is the same interviewer as in the above, and he sort of presses the same question about how can you satisfy the "hardcore", and just as Jan-Peter did in the later part of the above interview, Terry Dorn pretty much lays out the fact that the "inferiority" of class d is nowadays pretty much just old-timey bunk, just as we are finding out ourselves on this forum thanks to a few amp tours..

You're about two and a half years too late.  http://www.stereophile.com/ces2010/audio_researchs_magnepan_amplifier/index.html

Hey thanks for posting that, because it also illuminates another old wives tale, that Magnepans are only good with tube amps : "As I discovered when I paired a pair of MG-3.6s with Classé CAM-350s, while any competent 20Wpc amp will drive a pair of MG-3.6s adequately...any top-notch 300–400W amp will actually drive them well. Then Dave casually noted that the 650 was a class-D amp"

While I have yet to run a tube amp, the sound I got with the Maggie/Ncore combo was beyond spectacular and then further still, as others with Maggies have noted. The utter control over the panel is something to be experienced first hand.
