Has the associated in-room/remote control app been released yet?  Just read complaints of cheap construction and poor service, definitely not typical of Neumann.  They make use of DSP to smooth frequency response and extend bass.  Here' a review:

This looks like it: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/neumann-control/id1394556417?mt=8

The price looks right, free.  I assume a windows version, and hopefully a Linux version will be forthcoming.

Isn't it interesting that professionals seem to have no qualms about class D amps, advanced digital processing, and DSP, all being built into each monitor while many "civilian" audio consumers go running out of the room screaming as the mention of such?  All this technology makes passive speakers of all varieties look absolutely primitive in comparison.

Wonder if its 4 inch woofer can "fill" an average room, with help from sub(s)?

These are designed for nearfield monitoring, but even so I think "probably," because Neumann provide:

Maximum SPL at 1m (Blue: 3% THD, Green: 1% THD )

Which doesn't look at that great at say 100 Hz, however it's mostly second order from 80 to 400 Hz:

Harmonic Distortion at 90 dB SPL (Blue: THD, Green: 2nd harmonic, Red: 3rd harmonic)

I'm not that familiar with 4" drivers but given that driver Xmax corresponds to 10% THD, this seems like good performance ...
