My whole collection is in FLAC and I have no plans on switching to AIFF or any other format.

  On most controllers, Gnome, Minion, Max , USB will appear. Simply click on USB and the different drives show up. Then choose the drive from which you wish to hear songs.

Right.  That wasn't directed at you.  I'm not debating which format to use I'm simply just saying to use one.

You should try decompressing some into wav. just to compare.

Been there...done that...no need to go back again.

While I won't say that there isn't a difference, blissfully, I can't hear it.
