Well done Danny and the GR team. The new website is coming along great. No more 1990's

The new web site look very good, overall. A few of the photos are fuzzy, like the GR Neo 3 tweeter. Also, a few more dimensions on the drivers, like the required mounting hole diameter, would be helpful.

Is there a way to find out (about) how much it would cost to test a speaker, and design and install a new crossover?

Well done! I do miss the price of the upgrades listed right next to the upgrade as you had before. Not a big deal as the price automatically updates up above as you select upgrades, but it is still nice to see the price without having to do the math.

Also, the NX-Series picture is the same as the X-Series picture...might want to update that at some point and get those amazing NQs in the picture!

Just trying to help.

Congratulations on the new site!

Gary

One more...sorry! Did some of the prices change? The mid-circuit sonicap upgrade for the NX-Otica is now $640. Wasn't it like $360 before? Not trying to be a pain, just wanting to make sure everything is correct. You have every right to change prices.

Thanks everyone.

Yes there are a few bugs and fixes. Please point out whatever you see.

And some things are basically place holders as new photos and information will follow.

We are still working out shipping cost functionality too. So if you are ordering something and the shipping doesn't show up or something please let me know.

Hey, Danny!

Congrats on getting some movement on this project; I know it has been something you've wanted to get taken care of for a long time!

I just clicked through a few things and wandered through the LGK pages.  Do you have LGK drivers back in stock, because it let me get all the way through to adding a kit to the shopping cart as if it could be checked out.  I thought these drivers availability still made this kit on hold until further notice?

[EDIT: same thing on the NQ drivers.  Unless you are taking preorders and have some way of advising customers that is what's happening, the pages so far don't seem to be reflecting stock levels (assuming the NQs are still on the water and not in stock yet either).]

It's looking great Danny.  Make the website official by updating your favicon from the "W" to your "GR" logo.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cxQTN56uyE&feature=emb_logo
Appearance -> Customize -> Site Identity

If you are using a theme like Astra (or similar) the Site Identity might be hard to find.
Try Layout -> Header -> Site Identity

It appears Privacy Badger had an issue with it. If I disable it, they appear.

Wow, looks great!

Eventually please put a history archive with some pics of some of the kick-ass speakers you’ve designed over the years. Like the LS models. I’m partial. And that pic from Stereophile of dude worshipping the Epiphanies should be on your site somewhere. “GR Research. Sound so good you’ll take a knee.”

X-Omni Kit
$5,000.00

Seems like a typo from the website.

That's actually a fairly common placeholder price for many online shops, a similar thing lead to the "wayfair human-trafficking" conspiracy a couple months back. :P

Its a WIP much like a few of the other pages/ descriptions, so it'll get updated in due time.

LMAO
Killian & I saw the wild pricing for the X-Omni first thing yesterday morning, and they've been busy letting the site developer know of any problems with the site, so it can be updated/corrected/etc ASAP.

But I'm sure we'll continue to see small changes from day to day.

I did post this in the personal touch but thought to share here as well.

Could any of you tech guru's point me in the right direction regarding setting up a Word Press website with digital downloads?

I am looking for some basic info regarding good, but not $$$$ templates to use for a music site. What I should get for the digital download section, etc?

I am a do it yourself, and do not want large monthly costs on this. I have a domain provider already. I just need to built the site and get it going. Getting started in the right direction has been a real stumbling block, so any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Rocket Ronny

That picture of the NX-Oticas and servo subs has to go...whose are those anyway?   8)

On a more serious note, is it a pain to update the price posted at the top as you select each option instead of having to wait for all options to be selected before it changes?

Thanks, Ron....looking forward to the NX-Otica review coming soon!

Oh, Also please double-check the pricing of the NX-Otica options. It seems that the prices are $360 for the mid-circuit sonicaps, $80 for the copper bypass caps, and $80 for the foil inductors, for a total of $3115, but if you select all three the total is $3395. Then if you deselect the foil inductors, $360 is removed from the price. Or if you deselect the mid-circuit sonicaps, $640 is removed from the price. It doesn't seem consistent.

Great stuff

- No more XLR option for servo sub kits ? is there a reason why ?

- Do you plan to add the nx-otica MTM ?

- Do you plan to add the list of speakers model for which an upgrade kit already exists ?

I'm guessing he means the photograph? Cuz it shows an external boxed plate amp (like those found in the bigger OB kits) with a single woofer rather than an expected sealed woofer?
Title: Re: GR research new website
Post by: jn316 on 21 Oct 2020, 10:15 pm
Two more suggestions:
1. Use a different color for the words "Add to Cart." The blue is really hard to see with the black background.
2. Not a big deal, but for the No Rez, down the road I'd post a new picture with just No Rez in it so that you don't have to explain in the description that the other product shown is Blackhole 5. I don't think Danny has sold Blackhole 5 for years. I put some in my Strata Minis sub compartment about 15 years ago.

Duratex - add the picture (assuming that was intended) where the crumpled bag technique makes it look like stone. There's a minor typo in the description too..."and hiding seams" should be "at hiding seams." Sorry...can't help myself.

The pic shows the A370PEQ amp but the description says HX300 amp.  It should be the former due to the higher price.

Not a big deal but you can't "add to cart" if the product is out of stock (AV-3 due to M130 woofers).  So rather than order now and be in line for the kit when all materials are in we will need to see some notification that the woofers are now in stock?  Thanks.
Title: Re: GR research new website
Post by: Hobbsmeerkat on 22 Oct 2020, 09:27 pm
I believe Danny has said they should get their next shipment of M130/16 should arrive sometime in December if everything goes as planned.

But it would be nice to have info on the driver page & relevant product pages when new supply deliveries are expected.

I also agree with the suggestion for changing the "add to cart" text to something's like red or white to make it more readable for future users.
The dark blue is a bit hard to read.

We have plenty of the M-130/16 woofers in stock. It's the 8 ohm version that we are out of and waiting on.

I think you should use the term “out of stock” instead of “sold out”.  Sold out implies that they will never be available again.

Also, I noticed that the link to the NEO3 on the NX-Otica page links to the wrong tweeter.

A suggestion:

A gallery page of kits people have built with links to the build threads. Or as part of the product page, like the video/specifications sections.

Do the AV2s and AV3s use the 16 ohm version?  If so they’re listed as sold out on the new site.

The A/V-2's do. The A/V-3's don't. The 3's use the 16 ohm woofers.
