Hi,

I am looking for a compact amplifier/CD player combination without speakers, nothing fancy, it is for background music in a large laundry room. I already have a pair of Vienna Acoustic Haydn speakers.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated,

Cheers,

Marantz and Denon make one.

Marantz M-CR612 Network CD Receiver

Denon RCD-N10 Hi-Fi All-in-One Receiver & CD Player

Search for Desktop System, Mini System, or Micro System. In addition to the ones I.Greyhound Fan mentions:

Yamaha has the CRX-332 for about $250
Denon also has the RCD-M41 for $320.

If you see something you like jump on it as these are becoming rapidly extinct.

The Marantz is $700 and the Denon is $500 which are both over pricing guidelines.  But because these units are effectively an entire system sans speakers, and the price leaves plenty of room for speakers, I'm inclined to let the recommendations stand unless there are objections.  Anyone know how they sound?  They look like the perfect solution for non audiophile friends or, as in this case, a second system.

Right now there is a Linn classic CD on USAudiomart thats been refreshed for a good price and I would suspect much better sound quality than the marantz/denon units mentioned. Happy Hunting :thumb:
