Just curious - how many people here built their amps themselves, and how many had them built for them (or pre-built to a standard spec)? I am just interested to see how well the hypex idea of reasonably priced (by high-end standards) modules for real hobbyists/DIY turned out...

Is this about systems, as the title implies, or intended to be about ncore amps? If the latter, shouldn't the subject description be changed? If the former, why the ncore - specific poll at the top?

Assuming you mean the amp modules only, I built them myself with a little help from the threads on here and diy audio. :o

Fixed - was supposed to be ncore-specific, but I guess it applies to other hypex modules too.
"Building" is intended to mean more than just "picked the boxes to buy" and actually involve soldering etc.

Built mine myself.

Still planning to upgrade the case with some shielding and RF absorbing material for the SMPS

Built my 3x UcD amps about 10 years ago using mostly ST modules. Haven't heard anything that sounds better.
