Hi Guys,
Has anyone ever offered X-Statik flatpacks?
I think I can build them, I just don't have a router.
You'll need to make about a $225 to $250 investment for a router, circle guide, and bit. You can get the Makita RT0701C Compact Router that includes both a fixed and a plunge base for $150. The Dewalt and Bosch comparable kits are about $20 more.
Then you'll need a Jasper Tools 200 or 240 circle guide for another $40 or $50, respectively. And finally, a 1/4" spiral router bit for about $20 to $40 depending on brand and quality. Add a little more for tax and shipping as necessary.
That's the minimum to cut holes. If you want to cut a recess for the driver flange to mount flush with the baffle, or to round over the back of the driver holes, you'll need some additional router bits.
Not trying to scare you away. I think it's a sound investment if you are going to make other things or additional speakers as well.
